Sterling silver, 14K gold, sapphires, memorial coin.

5 CM ( 2") diameter plus the bail

A tribute to my ancestor, Chief Mungo Martin. In his time, he was known as the “last of the old-carvers”, he hosted the first legal potlatch in 1951, and is said to have composed over 200 traditional songs. He helped my grandmother, Ellen Neel, learn to carve; and she taught my father, Dave Neel Sr. He was a great artist and contributed much to traditional Kwakwaka’wakw culture.
