In traditional Northwest coast Native art there is a sophisticated visual language, which has become know in modern times as “flat design.” This age-old Canadian Indigenous art form was developed over many centuries and has evolved into a highly complex and expressive art form. Used traditionally on everything from Northwest Native big-houses to ocean-going canoes, today it is available in the form of hand pulled, limited edition, serigraph (silk screen) art prints.
